Be brave and build your own boat
Build your own rowing boat! New wooden boat enthusiasts can build their own rowing boats from pre-cut parts with the help of clear instructions! In spring 2026, Vendia Woods will launch a boat building kit that speeds up the boat building process.
The boat building kit assembled by Vendia for hobbyists includes everything you need:
We supply the builder with CNC-machined boat planks, keel components, and sealant. The kit also includes the necessary copper nails, rivets, other fasteners, scrapers, oars, paddles, and plugs, as well as surface treatment products.
The hobbyist boat builder planes the bevels, fits the planks, and assembles the benches.
We rent out the necessary building frames and jigs to builders, which make it easier to turn the boat during the various stages of construction.
It is recommended to purchase the gunwale planks longer than 5 meters (4 pieces) near the construction site.
The package includes detailed illustrated instructions. In addition, we can arrange a virtual meeting where the builder can ask for advice if needed.
The Vendia boat, made from Pälkäne pine, is easy to own and use. The boat's planks do not crack, and spring maintenance takes less than an hour. Furthermore, a wooden boat is environmentally friendly, as it produces no microplastic or fiberglass emissions. The Vendia boat has a negative carbon footprint, meaning it does not increase carbon emissions.
The price of the boat kit is €3,200 (including 25.5% VAT), which includes the building frames and a two-month rental of the building jig.
